Guiding Families, Empowering Children, Building Inclusion
Personalized advocacy and support for families navigating the world of special needs.
At Special Perspective, we help parents and caregivers understand and navigate the complex systems surrounding special education, therapies, and community resources. We are here to walk beside you, to advocate, coach, and empower you every step of the way so your child can reach their fullest potential.
You are NOT alone; together we will create a path toward inclusion, understanding, and success.
Special Perspective was founded with one goal: to give parents and caregivers the guidance and confidence they need to support their children with disabilities. As parents ourselves, we know how overwhelming it can feel to navigate IEPs, therapies, and educational options/placements. That is why we have built a trusted team of specialists who share the same belief that every child deserves the appropriate support and every family deserves an experienced advocate.
We focus on the whole child and the whole family. No disability is too big or too small to discuss. We provide advocacy, emotional support, and a connection to high-quality professionals and community resources that help children thrive academically and socially.

Diane is the founder of Special Perspective, based in Westchester, New York, where she lives with
her husband Robb, their two children, and their dog Barney. On weekends, you can often find her on the
sidelines of a softball field cheering on her daughter. Diane’s passion for advocacy began early in life.
Growing up as a sibling to someone with special needs and now raising a neurodivergent son,
she has witnessed firsthand how much progress has been made and
how much work is still needed to ensure accessibility, inclusion, and true belonging.
While studying at Fordham University, Diane began working with students on the autism spectrum. She discovered her lifelong calling to help individuals and families navigate the world of special education and disability supports.
In 2021, she founded Special Perspective to provide hands-on guidance, support, and advocacy for families seeking equitable educational opportunities for their children. Diane received her professional training through COPAA (Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates) and has been practicing as a non-attorney advocate for the past four years, successfully supporting families throughout Westchester, New York City, New Jersey and Rockland County.
She serves on several Special Education Committees and collaborates with local inclusive businesses to promote meaningful inclusion and a stronger sense of community belonging for individuals of all abilities.
Diane’s mission is to make inclusion more than just a word, but to make it a reality for every child and family she serves.
